A group of boys and girls from Mali dream of being big basketball stars and pulling their families out of poverty to give them a better life. In front of them, the biggest challenge of their lives: the sub 17 world championship held in Spain. The country, at war and with a jihadist presence in the north, has other priorities more urgent than meeting the needs of the Malian youth, affected by demotivation, low-level education and alarming figures of youth unemployment. Basketball is for them the way of escape, the only way to not lose hope.
